New Beers at Island Brewing Company

Summer is on the verge of slipping through our fingers. It's been a blur of brewing and bottling, pouring pints and imperial pints and more pints, smiles, laughs, festivals and more festivals, and of construction projects in the eternally ongoing expansion. We got to thinking that the Avocado Festival is a mere six (6!) weeks away. There's no time to reminisce. What's coming down the pike?

First off, have you had the Islandfest, our Marzen Lager currently on tap? There is a lot to like. Amber colored maltiness in a lager body. 5.4% 20 IBUs. No? You should. Pronto.

Batch 1000, the Triple IPA is doing its thing in a fermenter in all its unapologetic 9.6% ABV 126.5 IBU glory. Dryhopping begins tomorrow. Look for this behemoth to come on line soon when the stars align appropriately, if not sooner. Think mid-September.

Our Belgian Golden Strong will also be appearing in the near future, and tomorrow we'll brew our Avocado Honey IPA, or Avo IPA so it will be ready for the Avocado Festival. Mosaic and Simcoe hops balance avocado honey for a light body, fruit forward IPA. How delicious? So delicious, it won't last for long.

Finally, it's a busy month coming up. Check out the calendar section. We’ve got music from Rick Reeves, Eric Zobel, Big Tweed, Dry and Dusty, Jamey Geston, Finian’s Call, and on Sept. 17th, The Youngsters. Foodwise it’s a month of Si Senor Tacos, Fire and Wine Wood Fired Pizzas, Santa Barbara Food Connection, and LA Grub. And every Tuesday it’s the brain trust that is Tuesday Trivia. Now you know!
